WHAT IS JUICING?

A

Juicing is a process that extracts the juice from fruit and vegetables with the intent to create a juice full of vitamins, essential nutrients, and whole body nutritional benefits. There are many methods that one can use in juicing however many of those methods do not extract the full nutritional benefits in the produce itself.

WHY IS PRESSED JUICING BETTER THAN JUICE MADE FROM A CENTRIFUGAL JUICER?

A

There are two primary reasons why pressed juice is superior to juice made from a centrifugal juicer. One, it is a superior extraction method. Independent tests show that a hydraulic press can extract 3-5 times more minerals and nutrients than a centrifugal juicer. Hydraulic press juicers “break up the cellulose walls more effectively and make available more minerals and vitamins to be pressed out of the juice.”
Two, hydraulic press juicers do not oxidize nearly as fast. Centrifugal juicers use a tremendous amount of heat which causes mineral, enzyme and vitamin degradation. Since the amount of heat used in a hydraulic juice press is very minimal, the oxidation is not nearly as severe. As a result, it is widely accepted that pressed juice can last up to 96 hours before it loses meaningful amounts of minerals, vitamins, and enzymes. On the other hand, juice made from centrifugal juicers must be consumed immediately after it is prepared.

WHAT METHOD DOES SATYA USE?

Our method begins with the types of produce that we use and how that produce entirely impacts the end product. All Satya juices are made with 100% organic produce. This ensures that our juices, from the start, are free of harmful super-toxic chemicals that are sprayed onto conventional produce. Our use of entirely organic produce also ensures that we support the farmers who have dedicated themselves to the rigorous and time consuming process of becoming certified organic. This means that the produce in our juices is of the highest quality and has the greatest mineral nutrition available. Our method continues in our juice kitchen where humans (not machines) hand weigh and press the organic produce to ensure continuity in all the juices and their whole body benefits. We cold press the raw produce in our juice, which ensures all nutritional elements of the produce are incorporated. We never add heat to our produce while juicing because the heating process destroys key elements that are essential to our juices. Additionally, we press all of our juices in conjunction with our orders. This means that when you order juice from Satya, it will be pressed on the same day that it is delivered to you or picked up. Lastly, an extremely important element of what we do is actually what we don’t do. We do not add any preservatives, sugars, or binding agents. This means that everything you consume is being handled and cold-pressed with integrity from the beginning, to the end.

HOW MANY CALORIES WOULD I CONSUME WHILE JUICE CLEANSING?

All calories are not the same! There are different types of calories that can be consumed and those are protein, fats and carbohydrates. In this case, while juicing, you will receive the amount of nutrients needed for the body within each juice. Now, people tend to do juicing cleanses which makes it easier to calorie count but there will be no need to do so. The food you enter into your body will determine the way your body burns the calories. If you put crappy food into your system then it’ll be harder to lose calories, but if you enter our juice cleanse into your system, the calories you consume will be easier to burn.

DOES IT MATTER WHAT ORDER I DRINK MY JUICES IN DURING A CLEANSE?

You can mix and match your juices but, we recommend following the juice method we put together to ensure that you receive the most effective results possible. Also, drink the juice about 2 to 3 hours apart from one another whether you decide to drink them in the order they were given, or in your own order.

WHAT TO DO AFTER A CLEANSE?

A

As you ease out of your juice cleanse, I recommend eating several small, plant-based meals each day. Avoid the foods that you didn’t eat during your cleanse like meat, refined carbohydrates, and processed foods. Use your best judgment – if it doesn’t seem healthy, it’s probably not. You just cleansed your body of toxins so be mindful about what you eat! After day 3 of your post cleanse, you can slowly reintroduce meat and dairy products if you wish to. I recommend fish instead of beef, pork, or chicken and goat’s milk in place of cow’s milk. Continue to load up on fresh veggies, fruits, and whole foods that will contribute to your wellness. During your Satya Cleanse you may not have exercised in the way you normally do. As you end your cleanse, listen to what your body says it needs. If you feel like you need to rest, honor that. If you feel like your body is craving movement, take a gentle hike, or find your way to your yoga mat. And most importantly, be as motivated as possible through your journey.

FASTING WHILE OBTAINING A JUICE CLEANSE?

Cleansing can be tracked back to thousands of years. WE ARE NOT PREACHING, rather pointing out that fasting is a time-tested ritual that cleanses the body and mind. It creates an awareness that connects the soul with the natural and spiritual worlds. However, once can only go so long without nutrients. A juice fast relaxes the body, as chewing and solid food digestion is halted, yet, provides necessary nutrients. HOW LONG DOES THE JUICES LAST?

From the time of receiving your order, your juice would be good for about 4 DAYS. Smoothies and Raw Mylks are good for about 5 DAYS. If you are doing a cleanse for 5 or more days, your first three days will be given to you. On your day 3, your fourth and fifth day of juicing will be given to you. We use this method to ensure that you receive your juice at it’s best quality.

NATURAL FRUIT SUGAR VS. PROCESSED SUGAR?

Some blended smoothies have raw sweeteners (Agave, Coconut Sugar)- No processed or refined sugars are used in anything we make. This is one of our tenants of eating nothing processed or refined. Satya juices does not add any sugar of any kind to our juices. No sugar is added, not even raw, unprocessed sugar. Fruit and vegetables contain natural sugar. This sugar is a vital source of energy for most people.
With juicing calories and natural sugars are not the same when compared to refined sugars. When you juice you’re giving your body exactly what it needs. If you avoid fruits because you are needlessly afraid of their sugars, you are avoiding their vitamins and antioxidants as well, vital nutrients that are not readily available from many other sources. Fruit in both the juice format and the solid or blended format are both extremely cleansing to all aspects of the body where cleansing (Detoxification) is required.
Think of fruit as your vitamins, antioxidants and vital nutrients to keep free radicals away.
